The Bayer Innovation Center in Beijing creates strategic research alliances with top academic institutes in China.
Ongoing partnerships:
- Our strategic partnership with Tsinghua University (THU) was established in 2009 and has been renewed for the second time in 2015. The focus is on chemical and disease biology, structural biology (including protein crystallography), and medicinal chemistry.
- Our strategic partnership with Peking University (PKU) was established in 2014 and fosters translational research.
- Our strategic partnership with the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) was newly established in 2016 and focuses on method development in organic synthesis to explore novel chemical space.
Umbrella agreements are in place for the strategic partnerships. Under these agreements, individual research projects can be initiated.
In addition, the agreements contain information on the organizational setup of the alliance, on joint annual events, and on sponsorship options.
Alliance managers from the academic partner and from Bayer are in place to identify possible collaboration projects, assist in setting up individual research agreements, and oversee ongoing projects.
